The Soul Sisters: Imaani & Beverley Skeete

Tonight the 606 Club features two of the finest Soul/Groove singers in the UK, Incognito's Imaani and Beverley Skeete from Bill Wyman's "Rhythm Kings", the Soul Sisters!

A terrific vocalist in the Soul/R&B tradition, Imaani’s CV is long and impressive. She first came to prominence as the UK’s 1998 entrant to the Eurovision Song contest (one of the better choices!) where she was runner up, and went on to produce a highly successful single that charted around the world. She then moved on to work with Dub Conspiracy (with whom she again charted) and her worldwide tours, television, live and recorded output includes work with the likes of Gloria Gaynor, Carleen Anderson, Lulu, Beverley Knight and the iconic band Incognito, with whom she has now been working as a featured vocalist for over 10 years.

Beverley Skeete has had a career in the music industry that is the stuff that dreams are made of. As well as being a first call for numerous high profile projects she has also been a pivotal member of ex-Rolling Stones’ bassist Bill Wyman’s project Rhythm Kings since the mid-1990’s. However, her CV is also loaded with the names of dozens of well-known pop, soul and dance acts with whom she’s recorded, including Robbie Williams, Will Young, Tina Turner, Aswad, Jimmy Cliff, Jamiroquai and Dido. Her live credits are equally as extensive, including the likes of Elton John, Chaka Khan, Georgie Fame, Dusty Springfield, Tom Jones and Johnny Cash. Supported by a standout 6-piece band this is a brilliant pairing of two great singers and friends and absolutely not to be missed.
