Two bands will be playing - the young metal band Drogo, who've been rocking festivals all summer, and a long-time Fiddler's favourite, the Fabulous Micky C. They're part of a campaign by musicians worldwide to help the Bhopal Medical Appeal.

The charity works to help the many, many victims of the massive gas leak in 1984 at Bhopal, in central India. It happened 30 years ago and is still the world's worst industrial disaster. But unbelievably, it's still going on. The toxic site of the pesticide plant has never been cleaned up, water supplies are contaminated. In all, about half a million people are horribly affected.

But it could all be fixed. How many of the horror stories that are happening in the world these days can you say that about? The money, expertise, and resources exist to clean up Bhopal and provide proper healthcare - but it hasn't happened because of legal wrangling and because the politicians and company execs think most people don't care. We're trying to prove them wrong and shame them into it, through the power of music.

So the music project, Breathe Fire, is gradually posting online more and more different versions of the same song about the disaster - all from different bands, in different genres. Eventually there'll be hundreds. Drogo's live version on Sunday November 22 will be the latest. The rest of the videos, so far, are here.

The idea is that one day those execs and politicians will be looking over the shoulders of their kids and grand-kids on YouTube, or whatever place they're sharing stuff, and they'll suddenly catch their breath ....
