Set across 160 years, curious directive employ their trademark video projection, intricate movement and sparse dialogue to bring to life the incredible true story of Anna Bågenholm; a women who was suspended between life and death for four hours in the Norwegian mountains, before making a full recovery.

In 2015, following the outstanding acclaim and a Fringe First for the show’s premiere at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2011, the company was invited to meet Anna herself in Tromsø, Norway (supported by the Royal Norwegian Embassy). Artistic Director Jack Lowe visited the site of her accident and the hospital where she recovered, discovering incredible details of her story.

The show explores visions of medical breakthroughs, hope, isolation, origins and the solace to be found on the snowed peaked mountains of Norway. The Fringe First-award winning production weaves together four fragments:

1876 – Christopher leaves his young family behind to work in Norway. He will map the uncharted mountains for the very first time.

1999 – Anna’s body freezes after an extreme-skiing accident and her heart stops. Four hours later, it miraculously starts beating again.

2015 – Freija, a successful business woman, has just lost her father. She travels to scatter his ashes in Norway.

2036 – Nicholas was ‘suspended in animation’ as a new born. He explains the importance of Anna’s incredible true story, not just for him, but for trauma patients across the world.
