Man vs Santa 2015

Continuing on from the success of the previous year’s Man Vs Santa challenge, The Hand in Hand are delighted to announce the return of this much anticipated mince pie eating contest, in aid of this year’s chosen charity the SW19 Women’s Institute.

Inspired by Santa’s intrepid journey from home to home, and the generous food offerings left out for him, we are delighted to be bringing back our annual “Man versus Santa Challenge”! On average, Father Christmas is the undisputed Mince Pie eating champion, reported to eat 36,890,654 every Christmas Eve.

As we don’t have the whole night; the challenge is to eat as many mince pies as you can in just 3 minutes. There will be a £2 registration fee, which includes a free Santa hat and may even feature a guest appearance from Santa himself! Entrants are more than encouraged to dress festively for the occasion. Aside from the glory, and the handing over of the ‘mince pie crown’, he who ‘reins’ champion will win a minute behind the bar to pour as much draught as you can! The lucky winner will also receive a local brewery tour complete with tastings for themselves and up to 5 friends!

If the sound of mince pies don’t have you chomping at the bit, the Women’s Institute will be on hand with a selection of alternative baked goods and Christmas crafts, and, mulled wine and Christmas spirit will be in abundance with Christmas Carols and Brass Band!

The SW19 Women’s Institute boasts over a 100 members of all ages and backgrounds creating a vibrant and interesting branch. Their charitable work throughout the year cements them as integral part of the community and sees them raising much needed funds for a plethora of local charities.
