Experience Tim Burton’s Academy Award-winning 2010 fantasy film Alice in Wonderland on the big screen in the glorious surroundings of the Royal Albert Hall, with Danny Elfman’s magical score being performed simultaneously by a live orchestra and choir.
Directed by Tim Burton and written by Linda Woolderton, Alice in Wonderland is an imaginative new twist on Lewis Carroll’s original beloved novel and sees a 19-year-old Alice (Mia Wasikowska) return to the whimsical world she first entered as a child. With the Mad Hatter (Johnny Depp), the White Queen (Anne Hathaway), the Red Queen (Helena Bonham Carter) and the White Rabbit (Michael Sheen), the extraordinary characters all come to life richer and more colourful than ever.
This high-definition screening with live orchestral and choral accompaniment from the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra, the Maida Vale Singers and the Cardinal Vaughan School Schola Cantorum, all conducted by John Mauceri, will bring the record-breaking film to life in an incredible feast for the eyes, ears and heart, captivating an audience of all ages.
JUST ANNOUNCED
This screening will be the World Premiere performance of a newly scored soundtrack for the film’s finale. Danny Elfman, who composed the original score, has written a new ending which will be played live by orchestra and choir, and soloist (to be announced).
