Mencap's Lord Rix Lecture

Mencap’s second annual Lord Rix lecture will take place on Wednesday 25 November at the Millbank Media Centre, London.

The free event, which will examine the portrayal of people with a learning disability in the media, is being hosted by Sarah Montague of the BBC Today Programme. Titled ‘Learning disability and the media: unseen, stereotyped or silenced?’, the lecture will showcase changing attitudes towards people with a learning disability- one of Mencap’s biggest strategic priorities.

The lecture, which honours Mencap president Lord Rix, follows on from last years’ inaugural lecture on the crucial role families play to people with a learning disability.
