Don-E & friends; Omar Lyefook, Terri Walker, Hanlei and Elisha LaVerne will be performing live at Nells Jazz & Blues to celebrate the release of Don-E's new album 'Future Rares 2'.

From the time Don -E landed on the 4th & Broadway recording platform in 1992, he was engulfed in the musical arena with his own unique brand of “Ragga Funk”. His single “Love Makes The World Go Round” was a top 20 hit in ’92. Don-E’s diversity has linked him with producer Ron Tom and pop female groups All Saint’s and The Sugarbabes, along with supporting R Kelly, co writing a track with D’Angelo and being a part of Grace Jones’s regular touring band. Don-E loves being creative in the studio and the prelude to this album “Future Rare Grooves” sold very well independently, with it’s lovers rock, street jazz and soul edge. His new track appropriately titled ‘Grown N Sex-E’ is a taster off his forthcoming album “Future Rare Grooves Vol 2”.

Omar has just re released ‘Sing [If You Want It]’, on Tru Thoughts, the British soul supremo’s sixth and perhaps funkiest album so far. Featuring guest appearances from Stevie Wonder, Angie Stone, Common, Estelle, Rodney P, JC Bentley, Canitbe and Ashman, and with additional production from Omar’s brother Scratch Professer, it’s a brilliant collection of music that manages to break new ground for the artist. Yet at the same time re-establishes that unmistakable, unique Omar signature sound with his army of fans. On top of endless touring, Omar is also currently working on album no. 7 The Man, which is due for release in 2011 & has featured on a number of tracks by Zed Bias, King P, Dru & Perez & Live Tropical Fish.

Sixteen years into her career, Terri has decided to go it alone. She dropped ‘Untitled’ her critically acclaimed debut album in 2003, featuring a collaboration with Mos Def and was nominated for the Mercury Prize and four MOBO awards. She has recorded backing vocals for the likes of Nas, Cee-Lo and Jennifer Hudson, whilst collaborating with Salaam on ‘Hey Baby’ for the Sex & The City soundtrack and working on her own album projects. Terri’s latest album ‘Entitled’ is all informed by Terri’s experiences. “Celebrate the obstacles as much as the wins in life; that’s what makes us who we are. The album is pretty raw – hip-hop and a bit of rock with my soulful blend,” says Terri.

Unforgettable powerhouse duo HanLei (Hannah K and Aleysha Lei) have been performing and making music together for the last decade. Their stunning vocal is undoubtedly rooted in soul and can only be described as captivating. Having performed and recorded with a multitude of world renowned artists throughout their singing careers, they also continue to be the only backing vocalists to tour with the legendary Miss Grace Jones. Their empowering summer debut anthem 'Diamond' with Rhemi music has been championed by the likes of Louie Vega, DJ Spen, Sean McCabe, Joey Negro, Tony Humphries, Dj Spinna and more.

Elisha has always had a love and been passionately involved within the arts via studio sessions and musical plays. The debut album “Her name is” includes the instant hit ‘I maybe single’. Elisha went on to have six further album releases, including a song for the soundtrack for German film “St Pauli Nacht”, ‘Change Your Way’ featuring on Sony Playstation game ‘Persona Eternal Punishment’ and a duet with Maxi Priest of the classic song originally performed by Donny Hathaway and Roberta Flack "Back Together Again". After Elisha’s short sabbatical from the music scene she released a 5 track EP called “10K Above”, which includes some hip/hop soul inspired tracks with the great production skills of 2B3 Records and features from DJ Devastate, Subliminal and Broken Clone.
Her 8th album 'AOB' is due for release in 2016.

See you there!
