Learn how to make a corset on this practical seven-week course.
Corsets are an integral part of historical dress. They are frequently made for National Theatre productions such as Husbands & Sons, The Beaux’ Stratagem and She Stoops to Conquer. As well as creating the right silhouette they also affect how actors move and feel.
This course offers the opportunity to make a corset for yourself or someone else. You will be shown how to draft your own pattern and covers techniques including measuring, cutting and boning.
This is ideal for those interested in making costume for theatre and performance, or just for fun, and for those wishing to learn new skills or improve existing skills.
