Soft Machine will be performing Live at Nells Jazz & Blues on Friday 1st April!
Soft Machine are an English progressive rock band from Canterbury, named after the book The Soft Machine by William S. Burroughs.
One of the central bands in the Canterbury scene of the late 60’s, SOFT MACHINE pioneered the progressive rock and jazz rock genres. They are considered to be "one of the more influential bands of their era, and certainly one of the most influential underground ones."
Featuring the talents of John Ethridge on guitar, John Marshall on drums, Theo Travis on saxophones and Roy Babbington on bass. They've put together a collection of songs from throughout the band’s extensive career that basically has something for everyone; challenging jazz-fusion, adventurous prog-rock, bits of chaotic free-jazz, atmospheric instrumental pop-jazz, and even a little hard rock. An extraordinary show you cannot miss…
