Following complete sell-out performances at the Edinburgh Fringe run this year, one of the most exciting and finest emerging new comedians James Veitch has announced his brand new show Genius Bar is transferring to the Soho Theatre this February.

Join an ex-Apple genius and self-proclaimed tech nerd for misguided forays into online dating, unrequited love, and the alarming paucity of James’s hard drive space. Expect music, mischief, the Legend of Zelda; iCloud, Macbooks and 80's nostalgia.

Ever wished you could just reboot? Genius Bar tells the story of how James tried to fix his relationship using the same troubleshooting techniques used to fix iPhones, iMacs and iPods, posing the ultimate question; “Why can’t I wrap my heart in rice?”

A show for anyone who’s ever had a broken heart …. or a broken iPhone.

Veitch’s first solo comedy show The Fundamental Interconnectedness of Everyone with an Internet Connection premiered at The Edinburgh Fringe in 2014 to wide acclaim and his tech niche was born.

Released last August, James’s hilarious and fascinating new book Dot Con (published by Quadrille Publishing) is based on his witty and wicked attempts at playing internet scammers at their own game. Dot Con was listed as one of the ‘Best Books of 2015’ by The Sunday Times and described as ‘a hilarious account of Veitch’s email correspondence with some dodgy but dim online imposters’ by The Week.

Packed with real email exchanges with very mischievous replies from a comedian with time on his hands; whether it's his long-lost love recounting tales of their favourite moment together, or the business man providing a quote for James's new book, it's amazing to see how easy it can be to scam the scam artists. James recently drew inspiration from his book in the recording of his first TED Talk, where he discussed suspicious emails and playing with these scammers in his responses.

Additional writing credits include work published by The New York Times, various short-fiction journals and bluffable.com, a website he curates, as well as having performed at Vanity Fair’s Digital Summit to the global influencers of the digital industry; cementing his reputation as the leading light of tech comedy last year.
