Jazz at the Movies put a jazzy spin on the evocative songs and soundtrack themes from a silver screen sources both familiar and obscure. Their performance in the Elgar Room will launch their second album Kiss Kiss Bang Bang (2016), focusing on material from movies made between 1946 and 1990.
Hear new material from the band including Sondheim's 'Sooner Or Later' from Dick Tracy (1990), the Arlen/Gershwin classic 'The Man Who Got Away' from A Star Is Born (1954) and 'Mr Kiss Kiss Bang Bang' - the rejected John Barry/Leslie Bricusse theme from the fourth James Bond movie Thunderball (1965).
Regularly sold-out at Ronnie Scott's, Jazz at the Movies are fronted by acclaimed singer and vocal mentor to pop sensation Sam Smith, Joanna Eden, with Chris Ingham (piano), Mark Crooks (saxophone/clarinet), Rev. Andrew J. Brown (bass) and George Double (drums).
