UK brewer, Greene King is celebrating the new look and taste for its metropolitan-inspired ale, London Glory, by inviting London’s diverse inhabitants into a specially-created black cab to help capture and celebrate all of the things that make the Great British capital so special.

Londoners will be given a chance to tell stories about their home city over a free pint of the British ale, London Glory, and enjoy 15 minutes of fame when their tale is broadcast to the Greene King Brewery’s social audiences. Much like London, the stories the people of our great capital have to share are full of flavour with moreish appeal, a poetic ode to the crisp and refreshing sentiments of London Glory.

No ordinary cab, the London Glory taxi will house a writer-in-residence in the driving seat to tease out the best anecdotes from its city-dwelling passengers. There will also be a chance for those not entering the taxi to enjoy a free pint, which will go down better than a spare tube seat at rush hour, as free pint vouchers will be given out on the spot to be redeemed in nearby Greene King pubs.

The celebratory ale, created by the brewers at Greene King for the nation’s capital, will see the brewer station its London Glory-branded taxi in three key city landmarks between Thursday 4 February and Saturday 6 February. Lucky Londoners might also run into Harlequins players, thanks to the club’s relationship with the brewery. Much like the fusion of dried fruit with subtle bitterness in this Great British ale, this partnership with rugby and beer is one to cheer!

Londoners can get involved and tell their own engaging, compelling and authentic stories about the capital by coming along to one of the three venues and, against a backdrop of some of London’s most iconic spots with a pint of London Glory in hand, celebrate the hustle and bustle of the Big Smoke with anecdotes that capture everything that is glorious about our much-loved city. So come on, join us in an ode to all Londoners and their city, where pearly kings, queens and true royalty reside. Here’s to London Glory!

The ‘what’s the story, London Glory’ taxi will be in the following three locations from Thursday 4 February until Saturday 6 February:

Thursday 4 February – Great Queen Street, WC2B – 12:00 – 19:00

Friday 5 February – Spitalfields Market - 12:00 – 19:00

Saturday 6 February – The Twickenham Stoop, (Harlequins v Northampton Saints) – During the match

There will be more than free pints on offer at these locations; prizes, including beer for a year and once-in-a-lifetime opportunities to share pints with Harlequins players, will be up for grabs as well.
