It’s a busy half-term for young performers in the borough - thanks to funding from Children in Need and Esmee Fairbairn Foundation, leading arts organisation Studio 3 Arts is offering a half-term of incredible opportunities for young aspiring dancers, actors and comedians, under the banner of Big Deal, the company’s award-winning youth arts programme.

Over the course of one packed half-term week, young people will have the opportunity to take part in fantastic arts projects within theatre (writing, producing and performing), and streetdance (choreography, technique, and performing). This will be a truly special and rare opportunity to enjoy a diverse collection of work and work in collaboration with top industry award-winning professionals. The week will be led by Studio 3 Arts Writer/Actor in Residence Ashley J, fresh from his recent tour of the UAE, and World Champion Choreograper and Studio 3 Arts Dancer in Residence Jade Hackett, who returns from a stint in the West End playing Rap-on-Zell in Zoo Nation’s ‘Into The Hoods’

The project will culminate on the 19th of February with a truly special Big Deal Open Mic Night where our participants will have the opportunity to showcase their pieces they have been building and developing throughout the week in a friendly, encouraging and communal exhibition space at Studio 3 Arts.

Studio 3 Arts Artistic Director Liza Vallance added “We’re really excited to be back with our Half-Term project this February to showcase some of Barking & Dagenham’s hottest talent. We believe it is really crucial that young people in the borough get the opportunity to train with world-class artists to develop, grow and celebrate performing arts participation.

Our projects are completely FREE for young people, and options both for beginners and more experienced performers will be offered. Places on the projects are strictly limited, and due to the popularity of Studio 3 Arts’ projects we recommend that if you’re interested, you contact Studio 3 Arts straight away to guarantee your place.

Don’t miss out on this innovative and unique opportunity to work side-by-side with the next generation of artistic pioneers in London, you won’t be disappointed!

Our Big Deal February Half-Term project is completely FREE and takes place on Monday 15 February to Friday the 19th February from 9:30am – 17:30pm.
