Two Day Intensive Course on Shakespeare's Comedies with Colin David Reese.
"The robbed that smiles, steals something from the thief". William Shakespeare.

This is a two day intensive course on Shakespeare's best loved comedy ‘A Midsummer Night's Dream'. The course aims to demystify Shakespeare and make it playful, fun and accessible. All participants will be involved in a practical way into the text and exploring the physicality of Shakespeare's characters. Comedy is at its best when the visual and the verbal combine to make a whole.

No previous experience in acting is required, nor knowledge of Shakespeare's Comedies. This course is for absolute beginners. More experienced participants will also have a safe space to explore and learn from a master teacher.

By studying and practicing these techniques, applying them to scenes and monologues individually and in small groups, you get a better grasp of the comic potential of Shakespeare's language and a knowledge Jacque Lecoq's techniques, particularly in regard to how movement and text are one.

The course is taught by Colin David Reese, classically trained actor, appeared in over 1,000 productions. Colin started as a child actor, has over 40 years of experience of performing, teaching and directing internationally. Colin can be seen on the big screen as Colonel Maurice Buck master in Jean-Paul Salomé's latest film "Les Femmes de L'Ombre".

Colin David Reese is the son of celebrated radio actor, Harold Reese, his first appearance on stage was at the age of 5, his first professional appearance at 12, in a musical fantasy "All The King's Men" about the life of (of course) Shakespeare, as his illegitimate son.On leaving school, Colin immediately went into the professional theatre, at Plymouth where he performed in a number of plays during the season, including Romeo and Juliet, directed by Joan Knight.
