This fun, interactive session starts with a black glass tasting which will teach you to trust your nose and palate rather than your eyes. Our experts use physical props such as fruit, herbs and spices to bring alive the aromas of some of the varieties that we taste.
Using carefully selected wines that have opposing characteristics we will teach you the building blocks of taste including sweetness, acidity, acid and tannins. You will learn the difference between: new world and old world, cheap and expensive wines, old and young wine.
Finally we demystify the dark art of food and drink pairing. Don't expect a three course meal, but the cheese and canapes provided will teach you why some wines are 'food wines' (pretty dull alone but awe inspiring with food) and other wines are better drunk ice cold.
