Sat May 21 - Alllllllll Abooooooaaaaaaard The South London Soul Train. It's on going mission to seriously funk up your mind & body + force feed yoh soul with the absolute best of times. Your host Jazzheadchronic joined by hot powerful US Soul Songstress Robin Mckelle & The Flytones Live + so much more across 4 floors at The CLF / Bussey.

Robin McKelle was discovered in France through two swing jazz albums recorded with a big band: Introducing Robin McKelle (2006) and Modern Antique (2008). They had originally been recorded as a way to help them get contracts to play live gigs and eventually ended up on the desk of an A&R exec at a label.

One thing lead to another and McKelle started touring all around the world with great success. But in 2010 the woman from Rochester, New York, decided to take a courageous risk with her album, Mess Around. In this album she revisited themes dear to Leonard Cohen, Doc Pomus, Willie Dixon and since Mess Arounds release, has simply never looked back.

Even though she doesn't deny her influences, Robin McKelle manages to write captivating bluesy and soulful songs without falling into the revivalist trap.

Regarding her explosive live performances, Robin McKelle is influenced as much by the great male soul singers as by the divas of the 60's and when you hear her sing, lord have mercy you will feel it.

Time for some serious soul.

Then on level 2 - Legendary DJ's Snowboy and Dean Rudland mine the crates for more vintage 45s for an epic journey thru the land of the supah-funkus-sphere.

Room 3 -Too damn hot SLST residents - the outstanding Nik Weston and bad ass DJ Huw 72 take you on another sublime gloablistic Safari across planet groove.

The SLST 4 floor line up completed by Basement Super Soul Bowl residents - First Word Founder Gilla & Wah Wah 45s. Soul, the whole soul and nothing but the soul on 45 + Moh.
