New Zealand-born composer and violinist John Metcalfe is one of the most sought after musicians in the business. In addition to having arranged for the likes of Blur, Morrissey and Coldplay, co-produced albums with Peter Gabriel, and played in the renowned Duke Quartet and Max Richter Ensemble, Metcalfe is a reputable solo performer.
For his debut performance at the Elgar Room, John Metcalfe will perform music from his latest solo album The Appearance of Colour. Described as 'staggeringly beautiful' by 6Music's Mary Anne Hobbs the album will be performed by Metcalfe's band – Daisy Palmer (drums), Ali Friend (bass) and the gorgeous vocals of Rosie Doonan.
