Abandoned Adopted Here is being hosted, thanks to the generosity of SOAS in the DLT Lecture theatre on April 7th, doors open at 18:30 pm.

The film will be screened at 19:00 and following the screening there will be a Q&A chaired by Dr. Diana Yeh, author of The Happy Hsiungs. This is a unique and at the moment one off opportunity to watch an extraordinary debut film which merely scratches the surface of alternative British life. There is much debate in the media about both identity, Britishness and nationality and adoption; Sheen attempts to ask some of the difficult questions as she takes the audience on a journey, looking at life through the eyes of an transracial adoptee.

This is what CinéWomen Magazine wrote about Lucy Sheen in their Biennial edition 2016
"With her characteristic vérité style, Lucy Sheen pushes the documentary genre to virtuosic heights. Her psychologically acute film deals with themes I am pleased to announce that the premiere screening of the British documentary of personal identity and cultural difference, delivering a personal and nuanced take on an issue of international importance.” CinéWomen 2016

After the screening you will have an opportunity to put questions forward to Lucy Sheen about the documentary, about being a transracial adoptee and identity.
