Engineering solutions for an energy efficient cost efficient water industry

The water engineering industry is constantly striving to improve its water supply both in quality and continuity, whilst at the same time due to environmental pressures, trying to ensure all the systems are as energy-efficient as possible. This has led to some pioneering energy-efficient programmes in both the clean water and the waste water industry in which we will be exploring.

The UK has been subject to increased incidents of flooding in the recent months and this coupled with supply challenges has ensured increased projects surrounding water storage and distribution. The abstraction of new water resources has in turn affected the water treatment side and we will explore current membrane technology that have been developed.

With the retail exits planned by Ofwat for April 2017 ensuring a more competitive market, there is a need now more than ever for engineers to optimise current assets to make efficiency savings whilst needing to retain a constant service.

This event is not to be missed as it will cover the main challenges facing the water industry community industry and how the engineering community are meeting these through case studies on latest solutions and technologies.
