After the success of the inaugural Room Festival in November 2015, artsdepot’s festival of ideas is back with two nights of work by established and emerging artists. Unlike the last festival, Regional Room will be focusing on artists from outside London, as part of A Nation's Theatre, which celebrates theatre from around the UK.
Thursday 12 May – Double Bill: Goggles by ThisEgg and What I Learned From Johnny Bevan by Luke Wright
Goggles by ThisEgg is a comic and heart-warming show that teases out the awkwardness of love.
Luke Wright delivers a multi award-winning hurricane of a performance in What I Learned From Johnny Bevan. With humour and humanity he takes British politics head on, challenging the rise of New Labour, David Cameron and the abandonment of those left behind.
Friday 13 May – Double Bill: Atlantis by Lydia Cottrell and You Had To Be There by Uncanny Theatre
Atlantis by Lydia Cottrell is a funny, thoughtful and highly kinetic performance that asks questions about our past, present and future.
You Had To Be There by Uncanny Theatre explore those one-off, memorable moments that despite being permanently etched in our minds, never quite translate in the retelling.
