Christian Curnyn conductor/harpsichord

Rossi Oratorio per al Settimana Santa
Monteverdi Madrigals from Books 7 & 8

Early Opera Company celebrates the vividly emotive music of Luigi Rossi in his devotional oratorio, a powerful depiction of the story of Holy Week. Alongside his masterpiece are excerpts from Monteverdi’s Books of madrigals, stirring and dramatic works that heralded the beginning of a new operatic age.

"Curnyn draws glorious colours from his orchestra and makes the ten-strong period band sound like a parallel aural universe.” What’s On Stage
