This 9-piece musical whirlwind deliver infectious West African vibes from Ghana via Sheffield, with diverse origins conflating to whip up their signature heady brew of afrobeat, soul, funk and reggae otherwise dubbed “Afro-fusion”. Under the benign and inspiring leadership of KOG the Ghanaian force of nature on vocals and steel pan, KOG and the Zongo Brigade present an all new, stripped-back steel pan set, showcasing more vividly the traditional Ghanaian elements of their sound while leaving plenty of room for powerful doses of highlife, hiphop, afrobeat and funk. You will want to dance a lot, and you will be right! +

THE BLUESWATER, Tough and Gritty Rhythm and Blues. The Blueswater are an award winning, young blues outfit coming out of Edinburgh. Influenced by gritty, old-school rhythm and blues they blend the Chicago sound of Chess records with the earthy, droning grooves of Mississippi to create a style that is truly unique. Thick guitar riffs and frenzied harmonica solos are built around driving rhythms to create raucous, high-energy performances. +

GENERAL ROOTS, Heavyweight Roots and Lovers Rock. With a stripped back sound dripping with authenticity and stinking of strictly high grade, General Roots have been taking their high energy roots and deep lovers rock sounds across the UK and the World since 2008. +

BAGHEERA VS. TASH_LC, Afro-Latin Riddims with a bassline kick. Bagheera is a London based DJ and producer playing both solo and as part of the Kartel collective of which he is a co founder alongside fellow DJ Moyo. Playing a mixture of Afro rhythms both traditional as well as more modern electro influenced world music. DJ and presenter Tash_LC has built up her profile over the past year through starting up South London based collective, Boko! Boko!, a night celebrating electronic music from the Caribbean and beyond, spinning a mixture of Afrohouse, Zouk.
