In an exclusive collaboration between St Christopher’s Place and renowned muralist, artist and interior designer Frederick Wimsett the London oasis is celebrating Her Royal Majesty’s 90th birthday with an unprecedented mural of The Queen adorning the iconic St Christopher’s Place wall. The must-visit destination sees thousands of visitors a year and so celebrates the Queen’s momentous milestone with the nation and international visitors. The artwork is a visual focal point allowing visitors to celebrate and congratulate the Queen while discovering something truly British.

The design will feature a portrait from Her Majesty's coronation, a close up profile image, with a Windsor blue background depicting trees and birds from the UK in the Frederick Wimsett chinoiserie style. The mural measuring nearly 3x3m will draw in visitors approaching the shopping haven from other London areas. The distinctive mix of favourite brands and independent boutiques creates a distinct flair unique to retail hotspot matching the artist’s refined signature style.

The American born, London based artist has an intuitive sense of colour, a unique take on nature and an exacting eye for detail that makes his bespoke mural an illuminating and defining attraction. His work is inspired by 18th century chinoisierie and already in the homes of many stylish people including Alice Temperley, Kate moss, Jamie Hince and socialite Cosmo Jenks. Additionally, he has previously collaborated with Christie’s on distinct auctions to bring rare artefacts to life.

Hosted by St Christopher’s Place, this quintessential British celebration will provide the perfect opportunity for Londoners to unwind from the hustle and bustle of the capital in an oasis in the midst of London. Launching on 19th of April, the bespoke mural will be on display for 6 months at St Christopher’s Place. The one-of-a-kind artwork will be auctioned away for St Christopher’s Place annual fundraiser One Great Day to support Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity.
