Eurovision

The Eurovision song contest, the beloved celebration of campy ridiculousness (or legitimate musical artistry as they call it in some of the participating countries) returns to the Water Poet this May. The Water Poet has long been London’s foremost Eurovision party, with epic pre-drinks, nine screens, a meaty menu of Swedish sausages and (meat) balls great and small, and an Abba-solut cocktail cave celebrating all things ABBA.

On a night where anything Swedish goes and stereotypes are good-naturedly welcomed, the Water Poet’s Eurovision costume competition returns. Come as Bjorn or Benny, another past Eurovision hopeful, a Viking, flat pack furniture, some meatballs, a state-owned alcohol monopoly or a smorgasbord of all of the above... no judgement here! (Well, that’s not strictly true, as there’ll be boozy prizes for the best dressed). There’ll also be a fabulous complimentary cocktail for the first 50 to arrive in fancy dress.

Get down early to grab a spot in the cinema, though the competition will be blasting on all nine screens, inside the bar and out in the fairy light festooned garden.
