An intensive day with your camera learning to photograph the natural world is a fantastic way to improve photographic technique. This course is aimed at enthusiastic photography novices and improvers with a real interest in nature and wildlife and is tutored by award winning photographer, Penny Dixie. She will teach you how to take control of your camera, use its functions and settings and cover a range of techniques to create stunning photos with impact.
The workshops combine classroom based tutorial followed by an incredible location to practice the technical aspects learned and work on the fundamentals of composition, lighting and movement. Subject matter will include the indigenous Woodberry Wetlands animal life which appears on the day and could include waterfowl & birds, butterflies and other insects, amphibians and small mammals. Woodberry Wetlands is a spectacular location for capturing idyllic views over the reservoirs and the grassland and reed beds, provide the perfect backdrop for landscape photography.
Course Outline: 1) Camera control: understanding functions and settings 2) Avoiding camera shake, focus hunting and dark/dull images, 3) Choosing the correct lens, 4) Exposure without flash, 5) Basic composition, 6) Freezing & illustrating movement 7) Constructive review of images taken
