Taking place at Temple in London, the Temple Music Foundation will celebrate Shakespeare’s 400th anniversary with three concerts dedicated to the great playwright. As Middle Temple Hall was the venue for the very first performance of Twelfth Night in 1602, and the War of the Roses depicted in Henry IV began in the Temple Garden, Temple has a very strong connection to the Bard.

The concerts will take place on 2, 3 and 4 May. The 2 and 3 May see a production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream at Middle Temple Hall, with Mendelssohn’s beautiful music conducted by English National Opera Assistant Chorus Master James Henshaw.

On 4 May, Temple Church’s own Temple Singers will perform The Seven Ages of Man: Songs and Scenes of Shakespeare, a setting of Shakespearean texts to music from renowned English composers such as Walton and Vaughan Williams.
