The Free Association is committed to offering a one-of-a-kind syllabus of long-form improvisation training, based on the Chicago style of long-form improv but with our own unique spin. The courses will teach people the joy of discovering what happens when you say yes; of learning how boundless your well of creativity is; the confidence to create and build with other people; how liberating it is to play, be silly and have fun– whether you are a performer or not.

Our school ethos is aimed at unlocking a sense of joy in improv, setting you free to create compelling, hilarious and vibrant work with your team mates. We also want to provide the next generation of improvisers with the tools and knowledge to establish their own teams and create their own exciting shows.

LEVEL 1 –

An introduction to the basic skills of long-form improvisation – actively listening and co-operating with team mates, "yes-and", the freedom to play and be spontaneous, and an introduction to improvised scene work.

This payment is for the Level 1 course, which will take place over 8 weeks starting Saturday 28th MAY. Classes will be Saturday's from 11:30am – 2:30pm at The ARTSpace and will be taught The Free Association.

There is no pre-requisite for this course; anyone can join regardless of previous experience. If you have done a little improv before but not much long-form, it is recommended to start here.
