St Mary Magdalene Church is proud to host a screening of the classic political thriller 'The Day of the Jackal', followed by a discussion with the film's star, Edward Fox.

We are happy to welcome Edward Fox, acclaimed actor and three-time Bafta award winner, who will join us following the film’s screening to discuss what is perhaps his most famous role.

This iconic thriller follows a professional assassin, played by Edward Fox, who is hired by a militant organisation to assassinate French president Charles de Gaulle in the summer of 1963. Critically acclaimed, The Day of the Jackal won a Bafta award, was nominated for the Academy Awards and Golden Globes, and was described as a 'beautifully executed example of filmmaking' by critic Roger Ebert.

This event is being held in aid of the St Mary Magdalene Heritage and Community Centre Appeal, a community effort to make St Mary Magdalene Church into a heritage, cultural and arts centre for north Paddington, while refurbishing it as a living place of worship.
