DYAD

DYAD, showing at HIVE Dalston this May, is the first joint exhibition of work by female artists and lesbian couple Rebecca Chitticks; a figurative painter, and Beatrice McGuire; a multi-disciplinary artist showing photography.

Rebecca and Beatrice live and make work side by side in East London. Showing together for the first time at DYAD, the arising creative tension between their artistic practices will be preserved, and the defining contradictions innate to their close proximity and differing viewpoints (conditions which at times influence their work) will be extrapolated through display in a new context. Both artists' work concerns a contemporary and disparate approach to portraiture and representing the figure. At DYAD, Rebecca will show new oil paintings from her recent portrait series', and Beatrice will show her new photographic series, PROJECTIONS.
