Joseph Paxton Exhibition at London's gpstudio

gpstudio are pleased to present their third exhibition of 2016 in The Arch Window- the unique exhibition space at their Southwark design studio which has been grabbing the attention of passers by and art enthusiasts alike.

Joseph Paxton, a contemporary British sculptor living in London creates work exploring the juxtapositions of simplicity, strength and vulnerability within the animal and human form, exploring emotions and states of being delineated through physical dynamic with which we as human animals are compelled to relate.

Joseph grew up in Wales surrounded by farmland, where from an early age he developed a close interest in the natural world. After developing a love for the sculptural medium at school, he went on to study fine art at Newcastle University from 2001-2005 and graduated with a BA Hon's Fine Art.

In the Arch Window Joseph has chosen to show a combination of sculpture, print and original art works. His steel frame covered straw and plaster human and dog sculptures are the original casts of which he then goes on to use to recast and later bronze.

Birdman, an original piece crated using charcoal, straw and paint on wooden board and several prints are also on display.

The team at gpstudio are passionate about encouraging and celebrating creative talent, so they curate work by a wide variety of new and established designers, artists, illustrators and photographers, transforming the pavement outside into a free gallery, for the public to enjoy.

gpstudio have a long line of artist and sculptors already selected for the rest 2016 going into 2017 so it is definitely a space to keep an eye on.
