Afro Retro T-Shirt Printing

Join the AfroRetro sisters for an evening of UpCycling and old skool printing.

We will look at the symbolism and story telling behind African Fabrics from ancient gods to mobile phones and political statements- they use it all! We’ll lead you through our creative design process to create your very own print inspired by your story and identity.

Play with colour, shapes and mark-making techniques to produce a paper print. We’ll then move onto fabric as you expand your design and finally transfer your final design onto an unloved tee. In the spirit of UpCycling please bring a tee you would like to vamp up and we will provide everything else you need. If you don’t have a tee we’ll have a selection of t-shirts available for £3.

Please note we will be working with fabric paints, which will not come out of clothes so please dress accordingly- though aprons will be provided.
