SPLASH FEST is set to transform Battersea Park into London’s first family-friendly aqua obstacle course on Sunday 7 August. Featuring five zones of water-themed challenges and games over a 2.5km trail – as well as a lively event village – SPLASH FEST will see families conquering slides, foam, water spouts and more! Organised by lifesaving charity, the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI), SPLASH FEST is ideal for families with children aged around 7–12 and promises to be one of this summer’s unmissable events.

Each zone at SPLASH FEST is specially created to keep families entertained throughout the day. Bubbly Brook sees giant bubbles, a maze, music and a bandstand marooned in a sea of foam; Slip-Slide Stream features the slipperiest toboggan-style water slides, from fast and foamy to more sedate and slippy; in Wild Wild Waters, there will be geyser-spouting waters to dodge, or not; at Splash ‘n’ Shoot, participants will navigate a giant boat before taking aim at floating targets on the lake; and finally at Crazy Canyon there will be a series of pools to cross, using a combination of fun floating devices, plus a giant inflatable water slide.

The event village – the Splash Out Zone – will be another highlight, with live music, entertainment, food and drink, and of course a drying-off area, as well as plenty of ways to find out more about the RNLI’s lifesaving work

To ensure a steady flow through the SPLASH FEST obstacles, start times will be staggered and can be chosen when purchasing tickets.

On arrival at the event, each family will be given a SPLASH FEST welcome pack. After completing the course, participants will receive a SPLASH FEST medal.

Participants are advised to bring towels, a change of clothes, suncream, extra money for additional activities and a hat. The Splash Fest ticket price covers most of the activities and entertainment, but tokens (available for purchase on the day) will be required to enjoy some of the attractions in the Splash Out Zone.

1. improve organisation
2. more fun activities.
3. reduce queue time considerably
4. be more up to date about what the public want and expect.
5. make the area more compact so not long trek from site to site.
6. more detail as to what involved.

Very long lines for mediocre water activities. There was no limit to how many times people could go at each activity so time slots were essentially useless. There were also unsupervised kids everywhere that were skipping lines and creating chaos. They need to stick to the rules on the website next year.

The queues were insane -too many people not enough equipment.
The first obstacle was a paddling boat which was in a rubber swimming pool no bigger than 3m square - queued in the baking sun with a 3 year old 45 minutes - the 4th obstacle with the foam and slides, we couldn't go on as the queues were into the hundreds of people, at lest 90 minute wait. Very disappointed with the organising of it, basically hundreds and hundreds of people waiting in queues all day.

I think it was in a great place and the idea is wonderful but poorly poorly resourced.
