Live:
Pleasure Beach
Trudy and the Romance
+ Tibet
One of the most exciting bands this year, Pleasure Beach are stopping by London to headline round five of Hopscotch, before heading down to Brighton for The Great Escape. The five piece from Northern Ireland have just released 'Magic Mountain', the follow up to their debut EP, which they released last year. Pleasure Beach are perfect for that sunset slot at a festival or keeping you company in your headphones on a rainy day. To see them live in the intimacy of The Social is a proper treat.
Trudy and the Romance do proper gritty rock n roll. The blues seeps through, the groove is low-fi and they stand out from the rest. A band that have their own territory to work and play with. If you listen to them, you'll love them, so you better have time for the commitment; otherwise stop going to yoga.
Tibet are real charmers, seducing you with their spangly melodies, but turn your back and they will let loose all mayhem. Support from Huw Stephens, Annie Mac and Nick Grimshaw have secured them slots at Reading and Leeds, Isle of Wight, The Great Escape and Latitude Festival.
Three bands you won't get the chance to see in an environment like this.
