Once a fortnight, here at Bourne & Hollingsworth, we invite guests to join us for an evening of spirit tasting and boozy exploration. For the summer series of ‘The Handbook’, we have called upon respected industry experts to enthuse about drinks from the likes of artisan Cyder to Italian Grappa and to introduce inquisitive guests to their unique flavours and fascinating heritage.

The evening will be a caper around the beautiful B&H Buildings: commencing with a welcome aperitif-style cocktail in the bar before venturing upstairs to the brand new B&H Kitchen for an insightful tasting of the host spirit lead by an ambassador from the brand. Guests will then descend into the atmospheric Below & Hidden to try their hand at cocktail making using the spirit of the night. The evening will conclude with a disgestif cocktail in the bar to mull over the evening’s discoveries.

These informal and interactive sessions will furnish attendees with a deeper knowledge of, greater intrigue for, the studied spirits. The next evening will cover:
Brooks & Conquest – Putting the Y back in Cyder – 7th June 2016

A million miles away from the popular clear sparling ciders prevalent today, Mark Brooks and Peter Conquest have created a range of artisan hand-crafted cyders, using only traditional methods, and resulting in some exceptional liquids. Learn about the origins and history of this style of production with the men behind craft cyder’s revival.
