Award-Winning Modern Māori Quartet from New Zealand Showcasing Hearty and Humorous Contemporary Māori Showband Entertainment.

The suave crooners from Modern Māori Quartet invite you to enjoy a fresh take on the classic Māori showbands of yesteryear. Toi Whakaari: New Zealand Drama School alumni James Tito, Maaka Pohatu, Matu Ngaropo and Francis Kora have come together from different corners of Aotearoa New Zealand to perform their cabaret-style show An Evening with the Modern Māori Quartet.

Based in Auckland, Modern Māori Quartet are a good looking, suave contemporary Māori showband in the vein of forebears such as the Hi-Marks, Māori Volcanics Showband, Dalvanius and the Fascinations, Māori Troubadours, Māori Hi Five, Quin Tikis and The Howard Morrison Quartet. They aspire to be global cultural ambassadors for Aotearoa New Zealand, representing the revival of a proud heritage of world-class Māori showband entertainment.

The show highlights New Zealand's musical past and present through a repertoire that blends old school charm with modern pizzazz, featuring unique spins on Māori waiata (songs), showband hits and pop music, all infused with the multi-talented Māori foursome's irresistible charisma, sublime harmonies and universal humour.

So suit 'em up in their number ones, shine their shoes, hand them a guitar or two and they’ll have you melting like golden syrup on a piece of fresh hot fried bread with their signature brand of Māori showband entertainment.
