Inspired by Shivaun Woolfson’s memoir Home Fires, Tree Tops is the uplifting story of the unusual and deeply spiritual bond that develops between a 12-year-old girl and her blind grandfather in the face of family turmoil and disintegration. At its heart is the story of a young girl who, in the end, forges her own path, transcending her turbulent world through the gift of magic, of story and of redemption bequeathed by her beloved Pop. The man who was blind, she realizes, was the one who saw it all.

Taking viewers into the heart of Sixties Dublin Jewish life, by turns tragic and comic, it uncovers a little-known community while at once delving into the complex and difficult areas of anti-Semitism, infidelity, divorce, mental illness and death.
