Hannah Lowe, Myra Barrs, Susanna Howard, Raymond Antrobus and Philip Cowell offer insights into his life and work. The archive, which was acquired by the British Library in 2012, includes photographs, manuscripts, diaries, audio-visual materials and poetry notebooks spanning the length of his career. Hannah Lowe will discuss the strategies and nuances of his collection Windrush Songs (2007), which published many years after the real Empire Windrush arrived to Tilbury, evokes a key moment in migration history based on the poet's memories of his journey and arrival.
