Morris needs help to start his own religion and the local homeless contingency are happy to oblige. Making the deaf hear and the bacon holy are all part of the Messiah's mantra but when alcohol is added to the mix events spiral out of control.

It’s not easy being a catholic; living in Ireland it’s difficult to escape a Catholic upbringing. There are so many rules and rituals that are impossible to make sense of, unless you have faith. But what will happen when a devout woman and her sceptical brother experience a change of heart? In this new dark comedy, Sky Blue Theatre explores the origins of a conventional religion and what happens when a new religion is founded.

Sky Blue Theatre are champions of new writing, producing ten new plays each year, from playwrights across the globe for the British Theatre Challenge, since its inception in 2012. That Catholic Thing written by Anne Bartram, a director of Sky Blue Theatre, is a bold, comedic exploration of ceremonies, rites and religious beliefs and the lengths to which it can take apparently normal people.
