The Hand & Lock Festival of Embroidery returns in 2015 with a programme of day-long workshops and exciting evening talks. The festival was initially conceived as an opportunity to celebrate embroidery and share know-how, but is now recognised as a gathering of embroidery enthusiasts wanting to develop their skills and attend fascinating industry talks.
On the 20th July, day three of the festival is a workshop teaching an 'Tambour Beading'.
Hand & Lock use the French art of Tambour Beading to embellish and decorate garments every working week. The technique was devised as an easy, fast and effective way to give instant glamour and texture to clothes or accessories.
