8:00PM **606 CLUB SPECIAL** AUBREY LOGAN SHOWCASE A native of Seattle, Washington, the multi-talented award-winning Aubrey Logan has been singing and playing the trombone since the age of 12. A recent graduate of Boston’s renowned Berklee College of Music she has already performed or recorded with the likes of Quincy Jones, Burt Bacharach, Josh Groban, Linda Ronstadt, Smokey Robinson and Pharrell Williams. Currently appearing as a featured artist with Scott Bradlee’s acclaimed Postmodern Jukebox, she includes numerous performances in the US, Europe and Middle East on an impressive international schedule. But it is as a performer in her own right that she is currently making serious waves worldwide. A winner of the prestigious Jazz Voice Competition at the Montreux Jazz Festival, Aubrey is rapidly building a reputation amongst both audiences and critics as a rising star. And not only is she an extremely impressive performer but she is also a skilled and individualistic composer, incorporating jazz, R&B, neo-soul, pop and just a touch of rock in to songs that feature her remarkable vocal range and impressive jazz trombone playing. She is currently putting the finishing touches to her first album, due for release in the Autumn, that she says will include "some favourite covers and a whole lot of original stuff". Tonight Aubrey will be showcasing her talent by performing some of the songs from the upcoming album supported by a 5-piece band of hand picked, UK based, ex-Berklee alumni. Should be an exciting night from this impressive newcomer to the international jazz scene.

"For 16 songs, trombone solos, joke, patter, clapping, audience leading and non-stop fun, Aubrey Logan showed that she is a superb musician, a killer performer and unquestionably LA’s Queen of Sass, Jazz, and heartbreak." Music Junkie Press;
"Jazz Trombonist and vocalist Aubrey Logan proved herself to have the instrumental and vocal chops to immediately capture the crowd at SOhO...with an easy, sophisticated stage presence...she swung naturally and put everyone at ease. Her voice is a killer and she controls it beautifully." sbjazz (US)

9:45PM PADDY MILNER’S LONDONOLA Paddy is recognised as one of the leading blues singer/pianists of his generation and it's with great pleasure we welcome him back to the Club. His critically acclaimed first album '21st Century Boogie' was released in 2000, The Times calling it "impressive and original", and from this point onwards he has become a bona-fide boogie/blues maestro. Currently touring worldwide as a member of Sir Tom Jones’ band, other career highlights to date include performances with Jack Bruce, David Gilmour, Van Morrison and Phil Manzanera as well being the recipient of the 'Best Keyboard Player' title at the 2015 British Blues Awards. With his classic blues growl of a voice and an unusually fluent and impressive piano technique his trio, "Londonola", featuring Spencer Brown on bass and Pat Levett on drums, combine the best of British musical innovation with a New Orleans Blues spirit and energy. The love of the music is palpable so expect a top class affair packed with the best of boogie/blues badness.

“The best blues piano player in Europe…” Blues Access, USA;
“Milner represents a new direction in blues and jazz” Blues Free Press;
“I love it…there’s a guy who can really play the piano” Dave Brubeck
