The family friendly International Fabrication Festival (FAB FEST) is a new free summer event, celebrating design and making with live music and entertainment, hosted for the first time by the University of Westminster.

Kids can come and try their hands at cardboard robot making, paper engineering, mask making and sketching at the festival as the University of Westminster celebrates the love of making and design.

Parents can get involved in all the activities too or enjoy the music and play judge to the more than 50 hand-built pavilions in the exhibition space.

The innovative and interactive cardboard pavilions will be designed and built by student teams from Westminster and other universities across the UK and around the world. They will be constructed in the exhibition hall creating an indoor festival site just days before the festival opens.

The afternoon will finish with the presentation of the Festival Prize, awarded to the pavilion which has received the most public votes, cast by FAB FEST attendees throughout the day.

Live performances from the University’s Westminster School of Media, Arts and Design will provide the musical back-drop for the day’s fun activities.

The festival will continue in the evening from 7-10pm with film screenings and music performances for those who like staying up late.

Entry is free and everyone is welcome.
