Join author Ali Smith, artists, musicians and performers at a fun immersive arts event raising funds for the Save the Library campaign.

The Feminist Library is fighting back against its recent eviction threat by organising a Summer Benefit to fundraise for new premises.

Experience the Feminist Library anew as artists, writers and musicians perform new and old works in spaces, nooks and crannies of the library.

During this 8-hour immersive arts experience events will include a choral installation, one-to-one performances in a lift, and the spectacular launch of the Feminist Library Survival Song.

Award winning novelist Ali Smith will headline the event, appearing to talk about her new book ‘Public Library and Other Stories’, itself a passionate defence of the importance of libraries and literature.

All this plus feminist stalls, signed copies of books, zines, food, drink, dancing, and the Feminist Library photo booth performance!

The Library’s fundraiser will mark the start of a week long programme of London wide events for ‘Anti Gentrification Week’ running from 2 -10 July. The week is organised by the Library in partnership with other organisations feeling the damaging effects of gentrification.

The Library has a limited number of free tickets for the Summer Benefit, for those who cannot afford the low waged ticket price. Please email [email protected] for more details. Please also contact the Library to enquire about access details for this event.
