Portobello Green Summer Festival 2016

This years' Portobello Green Summer Festival celebrates young and emerging artists and provides a platform for a diverse range of live music, performance, workshops and family entertainment.

The free festival will provide a platform for young artists to perform and aims to bring local people together to take part in and celebrate the culture of the area and amplify the vibrancy of the place.

At Acklam Village, Bay 56 will be turned into a “The Theatre” for a weekend of entertainment. There will be audience participation in the form of animation workshops where you can create video clips that will be shown on the large scale cinema screen along with the live performances.

The “Acklam Village Bar 58” will be open throughout providing a backdrop of live music alongside The Acklam Village Street Food Market which will be open for business as usual selling a fantastic selection of international street food.

“The Green” will hosts a Family Day on Sunday, run by the Venture Community Association and will include live interactive activities for children, including live music to keep you entertained.

Other curators and supporters include: Wintermute Tapes, EPIC, Goldfinger Factory, Richard Strange and Wade Bayliss. The full list of performers will be announced soon.

The festival is curated by Michael Speechley and funded by Westway Trust.
