Which Whisky Sounds Best?

The next time you're sipping on your favourite tipple, consider your surroundings. Your atmosphere, whether it be sound, smell or the plush-ness of your armchair, could be affecting how you experience the flavour of the drink.

This July, Hackney basement bar Kansas Smitty’s will be testing just that - bringing an academic, a whisky brand and a musician together for a series of exciting experiments.

The question ‘Which whisky sounds best?’ will be answered in a unique tasting and listening experience. Each dram of Whisky from renowned brand The Glenrothes will be paired with vinyls specially chosen by Giacomo Smith, one of the Kansas Smitty’s house band. The month's results will be compiled and studied for correlation.

Guests will receive a welcome 'The Glenrothes julep', followed by the opportunity to taste three whiskies from the award-winning The Glenrothes Speyside distillery.

The tastings will take place on the 6th, 13th, 20th and 27th July between 6.30pm – 8.00pm.
