About the event

London author and artist Sarah Elizabeth Beaumont will be at The Menier Gallery, 51 Southwark Street, London SE1 1RU to sign copies of her new book 'Alice's London Adventures in Wonderland'. You will also have the chance to see some of her Pink Flaming paintings, on show at the Menier Gallery as part of the National Society's exhibition running until 16 July.

'Alice’s London Adventures in Wonderland' is a parody of the celebrated 'Alice in Wonderland' story, written and illustrated by London author and artist Sarah Elizabeth Beaumont.

In this new and very funny take on 'Alice in Wonderland', Sarah Elizabeth Beaumont uses her skill and wit to engineer a modern parody of Lewis Carroll's well-loved classic, bringing it to life in the streets and underground tunnels of London, where its time-honoured references take on a renewed relevance to daily life.

This delightful tale is both ingenuous and inventive, includes new whimsical poetry, and is accompanied by enchanting original illustrations that bear homage to Sir John Tenniel’s pen-and-ink drawings, 150 years on.
