Book launch and exhibition: Colombia, life in the land of magic realism

In Bogotá, a Spanish humanitarian worker attends a funeral without a body, as a storm of yellow butterflies swirls outside. In the jungle, an English anthropologist finds a tiny peace community fighting to preserve their way of life. And, somewhere in the Andes, an Australian coffee farmer confronts a guava-throwing witch in his tree.

Join three of the authors of ‘Was Gabo an Irishman? Tales from Gabriel García Márquez`s Colombia’ as they talk about the personal stories collected in the book from 26 writers, spanning three continents, about their lives in Colombia, the land of magic realism.

Photographer Piers Calvert will also be exhibiting some of his work from his travels around Colombia and will be joining for a special viewing on the night.
