High Flying Busker Performs 100ft in the air at Barclaycard presents British Summer Time Hyde Park

Barclaycard is launching a daring London busker 100ft into the sky to play an exclusive set on the Barclaycard Betterview platform in Hyde Park on Tuesday 5th July at 2.30pm.

Visitors to the festival will be serenaded 100ft above the ground by Charlotte Campbell, one of the UK’s top buskers from Ruislip, London, as part of the free entertainment on offer mid-week at Barclaycard presents British Summer Time Hyde Park between 4th-7th July.

Chosen by Barclaycard in a competition run in collaboration with The Busking Project, the world's largest community of street performers, winning entrant Charlotte Campbell will perform an exclusive set for ‘high flying’ audiences.

Charlotte, who has just returned from a successful performance at Glastonbury, will perform her winning song ‘Years’ as well as a mixture of classics and a variety of her own songs.

The competition, which took place in June, saw buskers nationwide write and record an original song around the theme of ‘birthdays’ – in recognition of Barclaycard’s own 50th birthday this year. Charlotte was chosen as the winner with her song ‘Years’.

Winning busker Charlotte Campbell says:
“I’m thrilled to be playing this special set on Barclaycard Betterview, and over the moon that my song, Years, was the winning song. I’ve never performed 100ft in the sky before, so it’ll be another first for me!”

This year, Barclaycard celebrates 50 years of shopping and as part of this, the role it has played in helping the nation buy the music and musical experiences that they love.

Barclaycard Betterview will host a variety of special events during the festival weekdays including a dating event in partnership with Match on the evening of 5th July. Anyone can enter Hyde Park between 4th and 7th July, and experience a better view for free on the
Barclaycard Betterview platform during these four days. Normal ‘flights’ are booked in person on the day and are offered on a first come first served basis and subject to favourable weather conditions.

Barclaycard Betterview is one of a number of free attractions taking place midweek at Barclaycard presents British Summer Time Hyde Park, including an international food market, free films, comedy, and even trapeze lessons.
