Come join this spectacular Monthly FLAMENCO Night in Battersea, curated in collaboration with internationally renowned London based Flamenco artist Maria Vega.

This July 13th, Maria Vega returns to the barge to bring us an exclusive excerpt of her top-selling show, A Dancer’s Journey. Alongside four other acclaimed artists, Maria promises an evening like no other; a performance that fuses flamenco, dance theatre and live music. Taking place at the atmospheric Battersea Barge overlooking the River Thames, we promise a night for absolutely everyone, from dancers to music lovers, young, old, beginner or pro!

Battersea Barge is only a 5-minute walk from Vauxhall tube station, in Nine Elms.

Doors open 7 pm

Grab a drink and find a seat on this unique river boat. A true hidden gem and well-worth the journey.

7.45-8.45 pm – Flamenco workshop with Maria Vega. This is a great opportunity for all those who have always wanted to dance Flamenco but never found the time. Expect a fun and informal workshop, addressing both dancers and non-dancers.

9 pm – Live music and performance with Maria Vega and cast from A Dancer’s Journey.

Renowned Spanish dancer and choreographer, as well as the star of our May flamenco Night, Manuel Diaz will be accompanying Maria in the performance and dance.

Flying in from Cadiz especially for this night, we are thrilled to be joined by acclaimed singer Leo Power. On the guitar, composer and recording artist Jorge Bravo and on the cajón, experienced musician and dear friend, Demi Garcia.

All five will be offering this exclusive sneak peak of A Dancer’s Journey to all our Battersea Spanish friends, before the show tours other London theatres.
ABOUT THE SHOW:

“A Dancer’s Journey” is a unique dance show that explores the fusion between Flamenco, Contemporary dance theatre and live Flamenco-Jazz music.

The show is inspired by the poem “Ithaka”, by C.P Cavafy. This poem talks in depth about life in all its complexity, including both the setbacks and the positive memories that inevitably become part of the journey.

The dancers’ expressiveness, combined with the captivating live music, submerges the audience in the most powerful human emotions. The deepest hopes and dreams drive us through life; reward and fulfilment do not come only from reaching the desired end- point, but from the journey itself.

With nine sensational internationally renowned artists performing live on stage, “A Dancer’s Journey” promises to be a dazzling celebration of the beauty of dance and life.
