Ya’akobi and Leidental’s close friendship is being destroyed by their idle pursuit of happiness. After Ya’akobi decides that it is time to start living, he cuts all ties with his best friend and meets the seemingly perfect woman who holds a “very exotic combination” of spirit and flesh. From here onwards, a cruel game of petty manipulations begins between the three desperate souls who are all trapped in this twisted love story.
Ya'akobi & Leidental is a hilarious grotesque comedy by Hanoch Levin, Israel's most celebrated playwright, and translated by Shir Freibach. Through the story of two best friends who woo a woman with a big behind we gradually - and perhaps reluctantly - recognize the childish games we play in our relationships.
