This is a fascinating quartet, featuring two of the UK's most respected guitarists in a rare collaboration. A multi-award winner, Jim Mullen is widely regarded as one of the finest jazz guitarists in Europe. Originally from Glasgow he made his name working with a number of seminal bands through the 70’s and 80’s including Brian Auger’s “Oblivion Express”, The Average White Band and his own highly acclaimed jazz/funk band “Morrissey Mullen”. A highly prized sideman as well as leader Jim also includes work with the likes of Mose Allison, Jimmy Witherspoon, Georgie Fame and Gene Harris on a stellar cv. Nigel Price is a highly skilled guitarist as well as an accomplished composer whose swinging bebop approach combined with flawless control is a delight to hear. He has performed with the legendary David Axelrod at the Royal Festival Hall as well as being a regular with the BBC Big Band and is probably best known for his work over many years with the James Taylor Quartet. His wonderful talent was properly recognised in 2010 when his organ trio was named “Best Jazz Ensemble” at the All Party Parliamentary Jazz Appreciation Group Awards. Completing the band this evening will be the great Mick Hutton on bass and the excellent Tristan Maillot on drums.

“Jim Mullen…One of the great Jazz guitarists working today” Jazzwise; “Mullen…World Class” Guardian; “Very few players could manage playing as fluent, imaginative and technically impeccable guitar as Price” Evening Standard; “[Price] Ace guitarist. Full blooded, hard swinging solos” Evening Standard
